Return of the Green Beans... Playing It Smart

Despite the fact that it will endanger my recent pattern of slowly increasing my total weekly mileage, I am going to use today as an "off" training day. This decision is based on the fact that my legs and ankles (a previous bout with Achilles tendinitis cost me about three weeks of running) have begun aching in the last two days, and although I cannot fairly attribute this most recent concern to over training, I do want to be cautious. I suspect that the tendinitis is flaring up...

In the last few days, I have begun experiencing some achiness in my ankles, even though I have been attempting to stave off any returning problems by wearing polythene sleeve supports on both ankles, in addition to Cho-patting my knees. (See why I've refereed to myself as Robo-cop?) Hopefully a little green-bean "action" (as depicted in the pic to the right) will lend some relief and allow me to do some low mileage running tomorrow in anticipation of race the following day.

On Saturday I am registered to run in the local Furry Scurry 10k and a week from Sunday I will traveling to Utica for the Boilermaker 15k.

Breathe in, breathe out... YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
