Countdown 50k: Three Days to Go

Run: 3.2 miles in :24:00 min. @ 7:15 p.m.
Pace: 7:34 min./per mile

Weather: Cloudy, 35°F, 65% Humidity, Wind: W @ 11 mph; feels like 26°F
Course: A quick route around my neighborhood in a wacky "w" shape.

In the interest of following some sage training advice I am going to save most of “it” for the run on Sunday by running only the very limited mileage that has been prescribed as part of my taper; four miles two days ago, three miles today, two miles tomorrow, then a day off before the run...

At this point I feel like I haven’t run any serious distance in, well, forever, but maybe this is a good thing. In many ways I feel like I’m in a "fitness cocoon," just biding my time before bursting out onto the trail. There are stirrings, though, as evidenced by the three, workman-like miles I put out there this evening…

Breathe in, breathe out... YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
