The Training Week That Was... 3/3-3/9

This was my second week following the FIRST Marathon Training Plan, and the twelfth week of the plan (counting down in weeks to my marathon), which is now 11 weeks and counting.

In the recap below, the Key Run Workouts prescribed by the plan appear in parentheses. It is unclear what the total mileage I was scheduled to run this week is a little was, but I feel like I did pretty well:
Legend: R = Running, ri = recovery interval, ez = easy, m-t = mid-tempo, wu = warm-up, cd = cool down

Monday: (Rest)
Tuesday: (Key Run Workout #1--10-20 min. wu, 5x1000m, 400m ri, 5-10 min. cd) R 5.5 mi
Wednesday: (Rest)
Thursday: (Key Run Workout #2--1 ez, 4 m-t, 1 ez) R 7.3 mi
Friday: (Rest)
Saturday: (Key Run Workout #3--20 miles) R 15 mi
Sunday: (0 miles) R x miles

TOTAL--R 27.8 miles (-0.2 miles from last week)
Weigh-In*: 185.5 lbs. (-3 lbs. from previous week) [* took place at 5:00 a.m. on 3/10]
One aspect of my training, and the FIRST plan, that I need to work on is the cross-training element. Unfortunately, though the weather was ideal yesterday to snowshoe, I had a cold that I did not want to exacerbate so I did not complete the balance of my scheduled twenty miles, but hopefully, resting will allow me to continue this week with training. I will once gain need to be flexible as I have my first road race in quite a while on Saturday, the Johnny's Runnin' of the Green, a five-miler.

Breathe in, breathe out... YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
