Having been a busy week, and with an equally busy weekend on the horizon, I have found myself unable to get Key Workout Run #2 in, so am finding myself about 9 miles behind in training. I am hoping to catch-up a little tomorrow and a twenty miler is still in the works for Sunday. (But then again, there is the Pancake Breakfast fundraiser for my son's baseball league and yard work to be done at my parents, so who knows.)This afternoon, my school's Modified Track and Field meet was cancelled due to weather (thunder and lightening), so I took advantage of the freed up time not to run, but rather to hightail it over to Gregory's meet, which was oddly not cancelled. Once again, he and his team performed very well. The greatest challenge being the desire to increase their time without having any real competition. Once again it was not simply a matter of their superiority as track and field athletes (though that plays into it), but the poor number of available athletes and (what appears to me to be) very poor coaching. It is really very sad.
My evening will be capped off by... you guessed it, not running, but going to dinner with my in-laws, an infinitely more enjoyable past-time.
Breathe in, breathe out… YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
