First Time, Long Time

Run: 2.2 miles in :17:15 min. @ 7:00 a.m.
Weather: Mostly Cloudy, 61°F, 98% Humidity, Wind: W @ 3 mph; feels like 61°F.
Pace: 7:50 min/mile
Course: A redonkulously short loop around the 'hood.

I have been taking a 600m Ibuprofen pill four times daily for approximately two weeks. This past Monday I attended an appointment with a "shoe guy," who fitted me with over the counter shoe inserts to address what was termed a :"very high" arch that had been battered over the past few years. The past two days have been spent wearing my running shoes with said inserts in an effort to become acclimated to the "feel." This morning, for the first time since July 7, I rolled out of bed and laced up my shoes with the intention of running jogging.

All in all--despite achy knees, the feeling of carrying a twenty pound weight belt around my waist, and a diminished breathing capacity--things went as well as could be expected. The key now is patience... too much, too soon would be a very bad idea!

Happy trails and roads to you!

May I suggest a trip to a local Foot Solutions outlet, if you haven't tried them. They did wonders for my hurting feet.
