In a little over a week, Anne and I will be in Colorado where she will be "road marshalling," and I will be running three legs of the Wild West Relay. Although the longest leg I will be running is 5.1 miles, one of my asisgned legs will be on an extreme incline (uphill) and the last, a steep downhill. My three legs will be between 4.1 and 5.1 miles in just under 36 hours. Of coures, my 11 teammates will be doing the same.
In an effort to continue to prepare, I will be running "two-a-days" over the next few days, prior to our leaving on Saturay afternoon. The purpose behind this is not to run too hard or long with each training run, but to simulate the need to run a moderate distance with a shorter recovery time inbetween. I'm also hoping to run in the dark tonight, with a small headlamp on, as I will probably be doing so in one of my legs next weekend.
Breathe in, breathe out... YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
