"The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit."~Bible, John (ch. III, v. 8)After a can of garbanzo beans, a can of vegetarian baked beans, two pretzels, and a Buffalo Bills thrashing at the hands of the J-E-T-S, JETS, JETS, JETS, my Sunday afternoon was nearly complete, save a run in the wind...
I woke up this morning immediately aware of two pleasant facts: my legs did not ache and the wind was howling. While the meteorologists had been calling for rain all day, the clouds were apparently held at bay until early eveving, but the wind did not dissappoit. For me, there is nothing like a windy Fall day to make things seem much righter with the world. A cool breeze, dropping leaves and a cup of joe... that's the ticket!
Even though my wife, kids and I went to church this morning, it was the afternoon run (complete with the wind in my hair and beard and the salty taste of peanuts and orange juice afterwards) that moved the Spirit in me.
Amen.
Breathe in, breathe out... YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
