Can you believe it... SNOW DAY (Again)!

Weather Report (as of 5:43 a.m.): **Heavy Snow Warning in Effect**, Light Snow, 14°F, 75% Humidity, Winds: From ENE @ 14 mph; feels like 0°F.

Waking up this morning at 4:30 a.m., I was pleased to see that it was a very cold and snowy Valentine's Day... so cold and snowy that there will once again be no school (that's work, to me!) today. While the meteorologists have been flashing "Heavy Snow" Warnings for the last twenty-four hours, often this does not result in much snow. Fortunately, they were (kind of) right again this time... and tonight they're issuing (complete with Barry White accompaniment) a "Cuddle Alert" for this evening...

In stark contrast to last week's Sick and Snow Days, when I attemtped to preview a few educationally-tinged movies (The Winter of Red Snow--Thumbs Up, and 1776--Undecided as I haven't finished it yet--which may give a hint as to what direction I am leaning towards), in anticipation of today's snowy possibilities, I took a slightly different tact. Last night I walked to my neighborhood Hollywood Video and rented two more current cinema classics, Jackass Number Two (Unrated) and Clerks II.

My students would be proud, and my wife, thoroughly embarrassed...

How's the foot, Brad? Maybe I shouldn't have checked in on the race (and 1776...I'm on the edge of my seat about this thing I have only ever glimpsed out of the corner of my eye) before the morning stroll through the sleet.

Even the colleges are closed down here, so that translates snow day with the little girlfriend.

Enjoy that day at home!

still painful... looks like no fight club for me tonight!

I'm hoping to get back to 1776 later today... it strikes me as one of those movies that may be better in small pieces especially since the hardest part is that the DVD I rented is an older transfer and the dialogue and singing is kind of hard to make out at certain parts... visually beautifully but frustrating to follow!

enjoy our valentine's day!
