The Training Week That (Kinda) Was... 2/18-24

“Sports do not build character. They reveal it.”~Matthew Campbell**
It has been two weeks since I've posted a weekly recap of my training, but it's been two weeks since anything worth posting (relative to training) has really "happened." The hardcore physical work was also cut short this week, too, due to my doc's recommendation to rest my ankle. In the future you will continue to notice that I am remaining active with activities other than running ... at least until I can run again.

In considering the Campbell quote above, I'm committed to remaining in "sport," even if I need to expand my personal definition of what "sport" is... whether it be running, cycling, uh... yoga-ing, or some other activity. Here's what's went down this past week:
Legend: R = Running, R(T) = Running on Treadmill, SB = Stationary Bicycling, Y = Yoga

Sunday: R 3.38 miles
Monday: R 4.03 miles
Tuesday: R 4.5 miles, SB 20 min., Yoga
Wednesday: SB 30 min., Yoga (Doctor's Visit)
Thursday: Off Day
Friday: Yoga
Saturday: Off Day/Missed Race

TOTALS--R 11.91 miles, SB: 50 min.

Breathe in, breathe out... YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!

** Thanks Andrew for sharing the quote (and context)!

It is a quote that gets you thinking, especially when you're injured. How does that song go.. "You don't what you've got 'till it's gone?" When you're injured you start realising how much you miss running/cycling. (whatever it may be)
