Ankles, Toe Fungus and a Happy Birthday!

I still have not regained my voice, which makes teaching difficult. Fortunately for me, my students have been very respectful of my ailment (I think they'd rather have a substitute teacher!), and standardized mathematics assessments are being administered for part of each day so I don't really need my voice--at least until Friday when we are supposed to begin our annual research paper.

On the "running front," Anne and I went and purchased a gift certificate for my daughter's birthday, which is tomorrow. Jordy will be running for her high school track and field team this year (hopefully), as well as, playing travel basketball and playing piano, so I want to be sure she has good running shoes... not "sneaks," but running shoes... at least for the track and field part! While she has run the past two Bruegger's 5ks (as seen in the picture at the top of the post), and even won her age group this past year.

While at MedVed, where we purchased the gift certificate, I also picked up some applications for upcoming races, which I hope to be in shape to participate in. My appointment at the podiatrist's this afternoon failed to shed much light on my ankle injury (it wasn't the real purpose of the visit). I did, however, learn that my toe fungus is not responding well to treatment with Lamsil, so the doc took a culture... sigh. I visit the orthopedist next Thursday, and am looking forward to some positive news (selfishly, about moi) then.

Breathe in, breathe out... YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!

Just a photo of people outside in shorts fills me with optimism for the next season. Can you recommend good running shoes for growing feet?
