The Training Week That Was... 7/2-8

This past week was a busy racing one, with two races, one in which I garnered a PR at the distance (Brighton 5k) and the other, a dangerously humid one, in which I timed out at the same time I did two year ago (Utica Boilermaker 15k). Here's a quickie re-cap of mileage:
Legend: R = Running, R(T) = Running on Treadmill, w/A (with Anne), E = Easy Pace, and I've also noted increases (+x) or decreases (-x) from the previous week)

Monday: R 8.2 miles
Tuesday: R 4.8 (1.7 w/Anne(E))
Wednesday: R 3.1 (Brighton Chamber of Commerce 5k)
Thursday: R 1.7 w/Anne (E)
Friday: R 5.6 miles
Saturday: Off Day
Sunday: R 9.3 (Utica Boilermaker 15k)
TOTALS--R 32.7 miles (+2.7 miles from the previous week)

Weigh-In*: 186 lbs. (-2 lbs.) [* took place @ 6:30 a.m. on 7/9]
The last twenty-four hours have given me some time to reflect on yesterday's race, which I was initially disappointed in. Today, a day later, I feel I could have done better, given better preparation and running conditions, but rather than dwell on it, I am looking forward to following up today's "Off Day," with a nice run tomorrow...

Breathe in, breathe out... YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!

I took a "forced" day off today. I hate days off when i am unmotivated or too sore. I feel like i am cheated out of a healthy day off, which i think is vital. Of course, i am just a regular jogger, not training for a race, so i am sure it is different.

the more i run the more i realize that the only difference between someone who "runs" and someone who "jogs" is that one doesn't mind putting up $20-50 to register for a race! if you're doing your thing then it's all good... and props to you ;)

thanks for stopping by and commenting (again)!
