Initially I had intended to participate in the Hearne-ish 10k this morning, a challenging 10k sponsored by our friends at GRTC, which I had finished in previous years. Of course, often life get's in the way, this time my son came home yesterday hoping that I would take him to a "winter party" being but on for kids in the grade behind his (sixth) by his favorite teacher from the previous school year.

Initially I was disappointed that I would be unable to run the race, but soon I was more disappointed in myself for carelessly giving my son the impression that my race was more important than his activity. Though, after clearly displaying my disappointment, I realized it was silly to be "upset" as this would be one of about twenty runs I could (and would) register for this year. I then decided to take him to his party and make a trip of it for myself by staying in the park after dropping him off and running there.

When I set out on the roads surrounding Mendon Ponds Park today I tried something a little different, bringing my camera case attached to my running belt. Just in case there were some picutres worth taking!

Breathe in, breathe out… YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
