"Missing" my school stakeholder meeting after school this afternoon allowed me just enough time to stop by the YMCA and complete my speed workout for the week. Based on my perceived success at this past weekend's five-miler, I cannot help but feel that these speed workouts, however informal, are helping improve my overall performance. I feel very confident right now of my ability to hit my 3:30 marathon goal in May, barring any injury or illness which would force me from my current training plan.

Today's workout went well, the only real challenge being my ability to gauge the distance covered during the 1:30 recovery interval (ri), causing me to revert to a 400m distance rather than the prescribed timed ri. It does not seem as thought the weather will be clearing up enough in the near future to move these workouts to an outdoor track... so I will continue to do my best to maintain my focus on the treadmill.

Breathe in, breathe out… YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
