10K Rotary Run For Camp Haccamo

Run: 4.2 in :31:26 min. @ 8:30 a.m. (including 2 miles prior)
Weather: Sunny, 48°F, 20% Humidity, Wind: From SSE @ 5 mph; feels like 41°F.
Pace: 7:29 min./mi.
Course: The 6.27 mile course once again takes me back to Mendon Ponds Park.

Pre-Run Ruminations: Today's 10K Rotary Run For Camp Haccamo is a benefit event to "help Camp Haccamo provide its services to disabled children and young adults by helping raise monies for these programs." I'm not really sure what to expect this morning, especially as this "race" has not really seen a lot of action on the normal local running community boards; most of the promotion I have seen thus far has come through flyers and the like at school or other odd locations. I, for one, hope this is more of an organized run than a race, as my legs still feel hinky and I will be less inclined to "race" if it seems like simply a good run for a great cause...

Post-Race Reflections: I guess I was right in my cautious attitude toward today's run. The weather was perfect at the start, though not many folks turned out for the race I was glad to see a few familiar faces. There is not much to say as the event had quite a few snafus, the most significant of which was the use of a course without road marshals at various times/points, so in the end many participant's (inlcuding, yours truly) did not run 6.2 miles, though through fault of our own.

The morning was beautiful and the scenery picturesque and for this little event... 'nuff said!

Breathe in, breathe out… YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
