The Training Week That Was... 12/29-1/4

This past week on New Year's day I participated in the second in the Freezeroo Series, the aptly named 7.5 mile New Year's Resolution Run. Though I did not improve upon my time from previous years, I did feel that I had a stronger performance than last month's first Freezeroo and that my new training year got off on the right foot!

This past week was the second consecutive one during which I ran consistently, continuing with some relatively low mileage, moderately paced runs as I get back into the swing of things:
Legend: R = Running, ri = recovery interval, ez = easy, mt = mid-tempo, wu = warm-up, cd = cool down, ez = easy, B = Stationary Bicycle

Monday: Rest
Tuesday: R 5.8 miles
Wednesday: Rest
Thursday: R 9.5 miles
Friday: Rest
Saturday: R 7.7 miles
Sunday: R 6.5 miles

TOTAL MILEAGE: R 29.5 miles (+10.9 miles from the previous week)
Weigh-In*: 189.5 lbs. (+1 pound from the previous week!) [* @ 3:00 a.m. on 1/05/09]
As you can see in "the fine print," rather than maintaining or losing weight this week, I actually gained one pound--hopefully with the return to work, I will be (or perceive myself to be) busier and more engaged and therefore less likely just to eat for the sake of eating. Of course, the larger personal challenge this week is to continue to find the time to get out and train...

Embrassez votre été invincible!
