Well, it looks like once gain I'm finally (sort of) in style, at least according to the fashionistas at MSNBC.com, who recently posted that Hairy economy trend: Beards are back. The news organization attributes the return of the beard to both the "the blustery weather — and brutal job market..."As evidenced by last Fall's "beards for Obama" craze (see logo to the right), the beard has once again found its way into a (small) level of social acceptance. I, however remain unclear as to whether or not that is a good thing... part of the appeal (at least for moi) has been the general nonacceptance the facial hair formati9n has been given in the previous four to eight years since I first started occasionally sporing one...
Fortunately for me, my current state of existence renders me with a job, but living in less-than-desirable weather pattern and with assurances of winter's return, likely by this coming weekend... with any luck, or facial hair commitment, my current ten days growth will still be here then, too!
Embrassez votre été invincible!

Beards are more common than not in a lot of places around my neighborhood, but I'm living in a somewhat hipster dominated area of Chicago. They are just a much part of the fashion trend as skinny jeans, fixed gear bikes, and flannel around here.
Maybe I'm just jealous because I can't grow a full one.
i've noticed too how many folks are sporting beards of late... three four years ago, at least in upstate new york, not many folks went with the full beard--only metro-sexual goatees and van dykes... a la the backstreet boys ;)
