Pre-Run Ruminations: Of course, now that the weather has turned mild(er) I have found myself in the smelly, dank "workout room" of my local YMCA. What brought me here? Well, I needed to get a "speed workout" in and my stepson had swimming practice so, with the planets in alignment, I took the leap and stayed to train while he swam.
Post-Run Reflections: The 6.2 miles I put in this evening is by far the longest distance I have ever put together on a treadmill. Previously, I could not force myself to stay on it for longer than 3-4 miles. I'm not saying I'm not a convert to treadmill training (especially if there is any chance of being outside), but it was a more satisfying experience than I had anticipated... plus I actually did the "speed workout" planned for today's Key Run #1.
Breathe in, breathe out... YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
