Roadie: Camping, Hall of Fame and a Celebrity?!?

My son Jack went for a quick (one night/two day) road trip to Cooperstown, NY, to do a little camping and visit the National Baseball Hall of Fame. We last visited Cooperstown about five years ago (I swore to my wife it was "like, last year"--time flies!) Just as we had on our last trip, rather than booking a hotel room, we stayed at a campground about 30 minutes away. We reserved a great site, which happened to be right on the water... which was great except for the incessantly "honking" geese.

Whatever the gander was trying to say... he felt it necessary to repeat it for about seven hours, from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., stopping at just about the time we woke up. This noise did not stop us from having a fairly relaxing evening and night during which time we played cards, chess and just simply hung out.

CELEBRITY SITING! Walking around Cooperstown, New York, as we awaited the opening of the Hall, Jack and I came across perhaps the most famous New York Yankee employee of all time... George Costanza--looking eerily alive despite his waxy complexion!

Jack and I got to town very early and took some time taking in architecture and donuts... in no particular order. We finally made it to the Baseball Hall of Fame, bright and early and ready for the 9:00 a.m. opening time!

When we last visited, we did not have the time, nor did Jack at six year-old have the interest, to properly check out the Hall of Fame plaques... this time we did. It really is the cathedral of America's past time!

Breathe in, breathe out... YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
