This morning started as a few of my early days did the previous week, with about twenty-minutes of very basic yoga poses care of the Stress Relief Yoga for Beginners with Suzanne Deason VHS tape. This was in expectation of heading out for a long slow-ish distanced (LSD) run later in the morning…Today I challenged myself to finish something I had attempted (and failed to complete earlier this summer, and since that mis-step, had been slowly working towards achieving. Yesterday, Anne and I bicycled roughly the second half of the longer portion of the Genesee River Trailway north of Rochester. I had attempted this run from our Maplewood YMCA to Lake Ontario earlier in the summer nad had found myself defeated by sun, heat, and misdirection. Today I rectified that prior miscue...
I began by entering the Genesee River Trailway just past the rose garden of the historic Frederick Law Olmsted park at Maplewood Park, across from the aforementioned YMCA. From there I ran North… as I was running and observing my surroundings I noted the markers (Much like yesterday’s bike ride) and the many birds, squirrels, cars and people that inhabited these areas of our city.
Breathe in, breathe out... YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
