A 10k jump in mileage (!) this week which I would attribute to an increase in the distance of each individual run. Although I failed to do so this week, I am still trying to add some speed work (UGH!) to my regiment in an effort to improve my overall PR times.Let's check out a snapshot of what went down:
Legend: R = Running, R(T) = Running on Treadmill, Bicycling (B), w/A (with Anne), E = Easy Pace, and I've also noted increases (+x) or decreases (-x) from the previous week)While this week was a particularly strong one , given the quantity of what I felt are quality miles, I also gained two pounds following last week's 3.5 lb. loss. On average I have maintained a weekly loss of two pounds, though I will need to be careful this week as I am projecting a decrease in cumulative miles run.
Monday: R 7 miles
Tuesday: R 2.2 miles w/A(E), B 8.2 miles
Wednesday: R 8.2 miles
Thursday: R 7.2 miles
Friday: Off Day R, B 13.2 miles
Saturday: R 11.9 miles (2 runs) = 9.3 solo + 2.6 w/A(E)
Sunday: Off Day R, B 4 miles
TOTALS--R 36.5 miles (+6.2 miles from the previous week), B 25.1 miles
Weigh-In*: 184.5 lbs. (+2 lbs.) [* took place at 6:30 a.m. on 7/23]
A probably inconsistent training week is to be expected this coming week due to the fact that my son and I will be leaving town for a few days to camp just outside Cooperstown, NY, and visiting the Baseball Hall of Fame. We had been there once before, nearly four(!) years ago and are looking forward to a return visit.
Upon returning to town on Thursday, I am planning to register to run in the East Rochester 5K Karknocker Race Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. and the Francis/Kofahl Memorial X-Country 5k the next morning at 8:30 a.m. Whew!
Breathe in, breathe out... YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
