The Training Week That Was... 7/9-15

Last week began with an "Off Day," following the Utica Boilermaker (a picture of my torturous participation of which is to the left), which proved to be far more exhausting than I had anticipated. While my training is progressing, I'm still feeling the need (though the fortitude is lacking) to "kick it up a notch." I think I may (I know, I know, I always say it, but this time I really mean it) doing some aerobics, weights, or maybe even--GASP!--strength training.

My cumulative mileage went down slightly, as illustrated in this quick re-cap:
Legend: R = Running, R(T) = Running on Treadmill, Bicycling (B), w/A (with Anne), E = Easy Pace, and I've also noted increases (+x) or decreases (-x) from the previous week)

Monday: Off Day
Tuesday: R 6.5 miles
Wednesday: R 6.4 miles (2 runs) = 4.7 solo + 1.7 w/A(E)
Thursday: R 2.3 w/A(E)
Friday: R 9.2 miles
Saturday: B 8.5 miles
Sunday: R 5.9 miles; 2 Runs = 3.1 Jungle Jog 5k + 2.8 w/A (E)
TOTALS--R 30.3 miles (-2.4 miles from the previous week)

Weigh-In*: 182.5 lbs. (-3.5 lbs.) [* took place @ 5:30 a.m. on 7/16]
No races for the next few weeks, so there will be plenty of time for peaceful runs on new creatively considered trails...

Breathe in, breathe out... YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
