Run: 6.2 miles in :46:59 min. @ 7:00 p.m.

Pace: 7:34 min./per mile avg.
Weather: Fair, 72°F
Course: Castaway's Ritzy 6-mile Run in reverse.

The excitement is building as I continue finalizing with my teammates the plans for Sunday's Rochester Marathon Relay. The leg assignments are nearly set, the Expo at which we will individually pick-up our race packets and club singlets, begins tomorrow. This evening I ran an easy 10k, roughly the same distance that I will be racing on Sunday morning.

While my pace this evening was slower than race pace, I kept visualizing myself maintaining proper form at a faster speed--hard to explain but I tried to pick up my pace while slowing down my internal mind--that way long and fast does not seem so far and slow... any aches and pains I've been experiencing only hurt when I worry about it, so I'm taking it one race at a time.

After a recovery day tomorrow, I'm hoping to run the same stretch on Saturday that I'll tackle as a leg on Sunday... hoping to gain a sharper sense of the land...

Breathe in, breathe out... YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
