Run: 10.4 miles in 1:16:42 min. @ 4:00 p.m.

Pace: 7:23 min./per mile avg.

Weather: Mostly Cloudy, 55°F, 68% Humidity, Wind: from N @ 10 mph, gusting up to mph; feels like 55°F
Course: The Texas-Shaped Ten-Miler course made using USATF Map It!

In addition to having difficulty sleeping the last few days, I've also been suffering from a terrible, lingering "itchiness" on my face. I mention this not just to complain but to share how this seemingly silly ailment effected my ten mile run today.

Immediately after work this afternoon, I set out to follow the (at least in my geographically challenged mind) Texas-shaped course that I had made during lunch today. When I left my house, I was already feeling a little uncomfortable in my skin, almost swollen, but I hadn't noticed anything in the mirror just before leaving, so thought nothing of it. At about the five mile point, the area around my eyes felt as though it was burning and were watering; had I been able to I would have stopped... but it was a long walk home.

I made it through the run, which otherwise went very well, thank you, but it may be time to call my doctor. My fear is that he'll only recommend Benadryl, though I was just telling a student that he should see a doctor for an ache in case it got worse... once again, maybe I need to take my own advice.

Breathe in, breathe out... YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
