"If you want to make God laugh, just try and make plans for the future."~Ron Litzler
Weather: Partly Cloudy, 43°F, 43% Humidity, Wind: SW @ 9 mph; feels like 38°FCourse: Canterbury Road to Westminster Road to Harvard Street to Oxford Street to Monroe Avenue to Field Street to South Clinton Avenue to Westfall Road to Winton Road back up Monroe Avenue to Culver Road and then back to my abode.
Pace: 8:57 min./per mile
Feeling sort of back in the groove, I went out for a low-tempo run with the goal of coming close to meeting the mileage goal that the new training plan I have, to his point, loosely invested in. I say "loosely" as I'm not sure whether I will continue it though to its end, as it is in preparation for a marathon. I'm at something of a crossroads.
I've begun looking at the available winter racing possibilities, and while I do want to train for and run a marathon late-Winter or Spring marathon, there are so many tasty races (snowshoes, trails and road runs--oh my!) that I'm not sure doing everything is reasonable or realistic; in fact, I know it's not. So, it would seem that I have some decisions to make.
I will commit to one path or another eventually, but for now I will continue to weave the training miles into the races and events I've already signed up for. Like I tell my students, "while I'm not training for the Olympics, I am training for something--just what is uncertain!"
Embrassez votre été invincible!
