Watch Out for Flying Pigs!

Not the race in Ohio, but the ones from the porcine euphemism...
A flying pig is a symbol of an impossible event coming to pass. The popular saying "[it will happen] when pigs fly" (or when pigs have wings) is traditionally used to mean that the specified event will never occur.
Five days following the completion of my most recent marathon I have yet to lace up my shoes and set off for a run. While not running, I have however been active, primarily by bicycling to and from work two of four days this week and racking up about forty-three miles in the process. My legs continue to be slightly achy, but I feel that I will be ready to run Sunday morning's Beth El 5k, which is being held only a few blocks from home. In all likelihood, I will not be running for a PR, but rather running with the intent of working my way back into training.

I have yet to decide just exactly what my "tent pole" races will be for the remainder of the year, but having achieved a number of running goals in the past few months, I am very much looking forward to the start of something new.

Breathe in, breathe out… YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
