Week 3, Key Run Workout #3

Weather: Mostly Cloudy, 43°F, 81% Humidity, Wind: From WSW @ 5 mph; feels like 41°F.
Total Run: 12 miles in 1:31:33 min. @ 6:30 a.m.
Average Mile Page: 7:37 min./mi.
Course: A slight variation on the new-to-me route found on USATF's Map It!, 12 Miler (loop, mostly flat, sidewalks).

Pre-Run Permutations: Its the every-four-year double dip of both Mother's Day and my birthday. So "Happy Mother's Day to all mothers out there!" and "Happy Birthday to both myself and my twin brother!" Those two important things being said, I really don't feel like getting out for a run this morning... I'm achy and chaffed, but with only two weeks until the Buffalo Marathon it would probably be a mistake to do absolutely nothing. I reckon my very short (by cycling standards) bicycling trip counts for something, it likely doesn't count for enough.

Post-Run Reflections: Though the final course was a td shorter than I had planned on putting together this morning, I felt very strong and comfortable, spending most of the run concentrating on my form. The temperature was perfect (41°F), and I am hoping for an equally cool temp at he race in two weeks. The overall final pace actually was slightly slower feeling than I had anticipated, so the bottom line is that it's my birthday, it's Mother's Day, and I feel great.

Breathe in, breathe out… YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
