"One of the most delightful things about a garden is the anticipation it provides."~W.E. JohnsA week after prepping our garden bed, Anne and I finally had the opportunity to head out and purchase some plants. In the past we have somehow always managed to over-garden the area we have set aside for vegetables, so this year we were a little more conservative in the number of plantings we purchased. Of course, you can never account for the "mystery plants" which turn up... one of the many benefits of composting! This year we went with a total of eleven different varieties, three tomato, six peppers and two others. The specifics are:
Tomatoes: Juliet, Brandywine, Cherokee PurpleThey all fit nicely into our vegetable garden, and we're looking forward to a productive growing season... though the weather seems to indicate that much watering will be necessary!
Peppers: Fooled You (Mild), Lady Bell (Sweet), King Arthur (Sweet), Hungarian Wax (Hot), Red Knight (Sweet), Golden Wonder (Sweet)
Others: Spineless Beauty Zucchini and Mulitpik Squash
Breathe in, breathe out... YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
