Healthy Dog!

Gracie enjoys attemtping to lick the bottom of a cottage cheese
container in an effort to stay in peak physical condition!

Earlier this morning, Anne and I took Gracie to the veterinarian's for her annual physical, kennel cough nose-spray(!), shots, and blood test. As is usually the case, Gracie was very excited to be going for a ride, that is, right up until we pulled into the office and by that time she knew something was up. Not even the comfort of Gracie's much-loved Pokemon sheet (which we have on the back seats for her when she comes for a ride with us) was enough to comfort her jangled nerves.

Once inside, Gracie was a perfect lady, choosing not to bother the kitties which were also there for a visit. When the receptionist called us back to one of the rooms, I was very proud when Gracie popped right up and went towards the "technician"... then quickly went past her and headed straight for the exit! Silly pup. Once Gracie was corralled into the room (Anne and I in tow) the technician began preparing the vaccinations and things happened quickly.

The physical went well, and thankfully Anne was there to soothingly restrain Gracie for the nose-spray. In the end, Gracie received a fine bill of health. Anne and I were both surprised (and happy) to hear that not only had Gracie not gained any weight, but that she had in fact lost two pounds! The entire experience, of course, has exhausted so upon our return home it was straight to floor, and onto one of my feet, to rest for the remainder of the day... she earned it!

Breathe in, breathe out… YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
