Wake Up and Run!

Run: 8.1 miles in 1:02:05 min. @ 4:30 a.m.
Weather: Cloudy, 52°F, 86% Humidity, Wind: From SSE at 3 mph; feels like 52°F.
Pace: 7:41 min/mile
Course: Around my upstate New York neighborhood.

I couldn't sleep well all night (which may have been due to the fact that I inadvertently drifted off at about 7:00 p.m. the previous night, waking up only for the final minutes of The Biggest Loser), so I fumbled out of bed at 4:00 a.m. and preapred to soon set out for a run.

A cup of joe brewed and concumed, a quick check of the e-mail, an outline of a possible route established in my head and on the monitor and in twenty minutes I was ready to really get ready...

The temperatures were surprisingly warm, so dressed in only a t-shirt, shorts, neon "magic" knit gloves and refelctive "vest," I set out for an eight mile loop across familiar ground. Only the thick dark in certain areas made for mildly challenging terrain, though I have become proficient at "reading the road" via passing headlights over the past few years.

Breathe in, breathe out… YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
