Felicitaciones, Tuco!

I sure do "dig," friend!

Despite the snubbing of the Coen Brothers wonderful adaptation of Charles Portis' 1968 novel of the same name, True Grit (2010), last night during the Acadummy Awards, there was some Spaghetti Western celebratin' to be had... albeit for a deserving lifetime achievement award handed out months prior.

Though he and his wife did walk the red carpet last night, Eli Wallach who famously played Tuco in Sergio Leone's classic The Good, The Bad and The Ugly (1966), received the Academy's Governor's Award last fall. At 95 years of age, Mr. Wallach may no longer physically resemble the Tuco of old, he still oozes the devil-may-care attitude which he brought to great effect as part of the Eastwood-Van Cleef triumvirate of bad-assery on display in the film.

It is great to see Mr. Wallach still making the rounds and even acting in much smaller roles, most recently saw him in a very brief (though ultimately hilarious) role in Oliver Stone's Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps (2010).
