Though it was challenging to discern just what type of bird had taken up residence in the three-year-old nest on the second floor downspout of our home (every year it seems to be someone different), upon further review and with the aid of Canon software, I think we've narrowed it down to the American Robin. From down below (on the ground) the beak seemed to narrow and elongated, leading me to think nuthatch (which would have been unusual and very cool), but I'm thinking now that it may have been the angle.

Seasonal Downspout Living
Though it was challenging to discern just what type of bird had taken up residence in the three-year-old nest on the second floor downspout of our home (every year it seems to be someone different), upon further review and with the aid of Canon software, I think we've narrowed it down to the American Robin.
