The early morning rains supplied me with the motivation and where with all to return to some comfortable old things this morning: my yoga video... er... DVDs and my trail running shoes. I'd been very negelectful of my yoga "pract
ice" this summer, and every day I ache I remind myself that "this wouldn't happen if I'd only do some short yoga routines more frequently."
So here I was, in my attic with the moon roof open and rain trickling in, trying to breathe myself into shape. I feel kind of guilty using the term "yoga" as what I am doing does not look or feel like what Suzanne Deason (the "star" of this morning's program) is doing, but I think my heart is in the right place. After almost six years od playing with tapes and DVDs, I'm still not comfortable telling folks I "do yoga."
I am, however, very comfortable running in the rain. Although, after looking back at the heart rate monitor info, the average pace I maintained (84% MHR), was not quite as "high" as I had hoped, having the opportunity to run through and around raindrops gave me a wonderful chance to forget about my achy knees... at least until it was over, and I attempted to bend my legs in an effort to get my wet socks off... uhg!
Breathe in, breathe out... YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
