1. Earth House Hold (August-November 2005):"The phrase 'Earth House Hold' is a play on the root meaning of the word 'ecology' drawn from Gary Snyder's essays and journals. This blog is a clearinghouse of personal reflections, reviews, and ideas. These are being collected for sharing as I make my way on a blue highway journey toward more meaningful membership in the great community of living creatures referred to by some tribal cultures as Turtle Island." This blog is still up and has quite a few posts about movies, free-trade, poetry and other stuff remaining in its archives.2. My Runner's Feet (November 2005-June 2006): I moved from EHH to MRF as my own personal focus shifted to my running. To do this, I simply updated the site you are currently on, so while I still "have" the name, all the older MRF content is available here in the Walk-a-bout archives.
During this period, I also experimented with some smaller niche sites most of which, although still operational, I no longer post to wuith any regukairty. These blogs include House Idaho (January-March 2006), my Dune fan site, and the aforementioned Brotherhood of the Beard, which I recently began revisiting here at this blog.
3. Walk-a-bout!: After seeking to expand the scope of what it was I was posting about, I decided to switch to what I fetl was a more expansive blog title and focus. Intellectually, the broader scope has allowed me to feel free to share thoughts about ideas and experiences that are not necessarily directly related to running.
Now that I look at all this stuff and think (sort of) seriously about it, I don't know if I should be "celebrating" this or attempting to kick myself in the butt for not using all this time differently! This is, of course, much less expensive than therapy, and at any rate...
Breathe in, breathe out... YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
