What a Bummer of an LSD Run, Man!

Run: 9.5 miles in :79:49 min. @ 7:15 a.m.

Heart Monitor Data: 1102 cals, 83% MHR avg., 89% MHR max.

Weather Report: Cloudy with Light Rain, 73°F, 73% Humidity, Winds: S @ 10 mph; feels like 73°F.

Generally speaking, there is nothing more rewarding and thought-provoking than a nice weekend LSD...which is, of course, to say a well execute Long Slow Distance training run. This morning, things did not go quite as planned. While I did put in roughly nine and a half miles, they were extremely difficult miles during which I did my best to psychologically find a way to propel my body that distance. I felt gangly and much too aware of my lack of form and poor breathing. Not a strong run, but I'm sure better days area ahead.

Additionally, I think it may almost be time for an equipment upgrade, in particular, some new footwear. I wore my beloved Montrail trail runners today and noticed that the insert was slipping in my right shoe causing some sharp pain on my forr-foot an that the overall support is waning. Given the odd mix of trail and road races coming up, it's hard to decided which I need more quickly. Of course, money will dictate which, if any, I can afford to buy. Soon, school will start agin and I will start bringing home some bacon, so maybe we will be able to sock away some cash for shoes!

Breathe in, breathe out... YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
