Thursday Night Running: Prelude to a "Shut-down"

Run: 6.2 miles in :53:52 min. @ 8:15 p.m.

Heart Monitor Data: 706 cals, 80% MHR avg., 85% MHR max.

Weather Report: Partly Cloudy, 70°F, 85% Humidity, Winds: CALM; feels like 70°F.

While my wife says I should continue to recover from the "lacerated lymph node" in my groin, I am foolishly compelled to go for a run this evening only an hour after having gulped down 1/4 pound of pasta and cutting the lawn at dusk. My wife and her son are out for the evening, and while I have quite a bit of paperwork to do for school,(classes began today), I would be more content to run. So I make just that mistake... It is only now recognized as a "mistake," rather than "inspiration," because when I come home afterward, my groin is swollen and aching and the toe nail on my right big toe is spilt at the cuticle due to a huge blood blister below. After today's run, which otherwise was refreshing, I'm going to take a break for a few days, except for the 5k I've registered for on Sunday morning. *Sigh*...

Breathe in, breathe out... YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
