With an incredibly mountainous trail half-marathon lurking in only three days, I really needed to get out and stretch my legs tonight. Of course I probably did not need to run with a liter of diet coke, a small mushroom pizza, a piece of apple cobbler (with Cool Whip), and a glass of wine strapped to my gut... which is what it felt like as I made my way through the darkened streets along the line between the city and suburbs late this evening.
Belching and farting as I struggled along, I made a few promises: I will not drink soda or eat crap until after my race on Saturday because if I have to run 13.1 miles feeling like that, I'll end up in the woods puking and/or shitting my brains out...
Breathe in, breathe out... YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
