It's cliche to say, but life is full of choices: some are made in the light of a clear mind and others are decided in shadow of cloudy thoughts... some choices are large, others are seemingly insignificant...Every plan, training and otherwise, is full of forks at which a choice needs to be made, and not all have a direction for which tragedy or catastrophe are waiting at the end.
This morning I woke up thinking about what the day at work would bring, whether my wife slept well despite her aches and pains, if my kids were happy... all common thoughts and concerns, and at this point I made the choice not to ride the stationary bicycle. My knees were achy and, while I had taken yesterday off, I was coming "off" a weekend of heavy pre-holiday eating and my motivation was lacking.
It was as I was settling onto the sofa to check the news online that I altered my choice: "Couldn't I at least squeeze in a few minutes on the cycle? Wouldn't selection that option settle my thoughts? Isn't there something ultimately more productive than tapping away at the keys, skimming celebrity news?"
Yup,so I'm making the choice to get off my duff and into the basement... if only for 15 minutes of hard peddling...
Embrassez votre été invincible!
