Cycling (Trainer): 20 min. @ 4:45 a.m.

At about 3:30 a.m. this morning I woke up from a sound sleep. Often when I awake and try to lay in bed, hoping to fall back asleep, my legs, back and shoulder begin to ache, prompting me to get up. This I did, and went downstairs, accompanied by the family pooch, Gracie, to make some coffee and begin the day. Fortunately, I had some updating of information to perform with my recently recovered PDA (I had left it at work) and I also took the time to continue reading My Brother Sam Is Dead.

The snow (and ice) has begun to accumulate, so while I anticipate either an after school winter run, I did use the trainer to stretch my legs out. Once again, time flew, as I rode, on the pages of Sam. I also mixed in some readings from a book called Taming the Tiger Within by Thich Nhat Hanh. The "book" is actually a collection of excerpted quotes, or meditations, from some of Hanh's other books. The book is subtitled "Meditations on Transforming Difficult Emotions," and I spent some time, and will again later today, considering the following quote:
Every time you feel lost, alienated, or cut off from life, or from the world, every time you feel despair, anger, or instability, practice going home. Mindful breathing is the vehicle that you use to go back to your true home.

Adio, wli nanawalmezi.
