Cycling (Trainer): 30 min. @ 4:30 p.m.

The weather was very nice again today and I thought hard about going out for a run, even though I had done a long run yesterday.

"Go on," I said to myself, "what harm can it do? It's not like your legs hurt this afternoon."

"You're right," I told myself, "but that's whats happened before, you feel good, you've run long and you just keep going, only to feel very uncomfortable the next day..."

"Ah, don't be a wimp! It's sooo nice out today, and it's Sunday, and you might not have an opportunity like this during the work week..." I insisted to convince myself to throw caution to the wind and go running on the roads.

Fortunately, my smarter-self won out and rather than going outside running, and risking over-training, I opted to cycle in the basement and use the time to get some reading done.

I will be beginning with a new book club in a few weeks, one organized by an educational administration professor of mine from graduate school, and the first selection for discussion will be Charlotte's Web by E.B. White. While I am very familiar with the story having seen the animated movie in grade school and read parts of it with my daughter, I have never yet read the book from beginning to end.

With a hard cover edition my daughter received as a gift nearly ten years ago, propped on the handle bars, the thirty minutes I spent riding this afternoon got me off to a good start...

Embrassez votre été invincible!
