
Driving home from the supermarket this evening, I heard the news of the passing of another of our great animals, this time right here in the River City I call home. Not long ago, I posted about how the loss of great animals creates a gap in our global consciousness.
As related in more depth in MSNBC's story Zoo announces death of rhino, Satchmo (pictured in a zoo photo above), one of the two male White rhinos at (our) Seneca Park Zoo, died Wednesday, January 24, from an acute, rapidly spreading illness.
