The Training Week That Was... 1/07-1/13/07

Mileage-wise, something of a "down" week. It was at this time last year that my motivation wained and I missed a few races in the 2006 Freezeroo Miniseries. Similarly, I did not run in the race (Freezeroo #3) today, but am looking forward to some snow this week and having the chance to (finally) snowshoe. Here's what, eventually, went down this week:
Legend: R = Running, R(T) = Running on Treadmill, SB = Stationary Bicycling, and I've also noted increases (+x) or decreases (-x) from the previous week)

Sunday: SB 30 min.
Monday: R 7.8 miles
Tuesday: Off Day
Wednesday: R 3.5 miles & SB 20 min.
Thursday: R 7 miles
Friday: Off Day
Saturday: SB 30 min.
TOTALS--R 18.3 miles (-14.95 miles), SB: 80 min. (+13 min.)
The weather has turned colder and as a result my stationary cycle trainer riding had increased again this week, while my mileage has suffered, but not necessarily as a result of the cycling. Some minor health challenges with my legs (knees and ankle), as well as a bit of "under-the-weather"-ness, is more likely the cause of the decrease. I'm crossing my fingers that I avoid the flu that has gone through my class and resulted in an averge of four absences per class each day this past week.

So, with the upcoming February 11 Last Chance for Boston marathon date in mind, I am attempting to marginally increase, then turn around and taper down, while avoiding injury and staying healthy. In three weeks, all systems will be go...

Embrassez votre été invincible!
