The Training Week That Was... 12/31/06-1/06/07

The first week of 2007, and I had a fairly nice training week, ending on a positive note with a great (for me) long slow distance run. A experienced a few moments of January "blahs," but managed to stoke the fire by taking some key days off from running. Here's what went down this week:
Legend: R = Running, R(T) = Running on Treadmill, SB = Stationary Bicycling, and I've also noted increases (+x) or decreases (-x) from the previous week)

Sunday: SB 22 min.
Monday: R 7.5 miles
Tuesday: R 5.25 miles & SB 15 min.
Wednesday: SB 30 min.
Thursday: R 6 miles
Friday: Off Day
Saturday: R 14.5 miles
TOTALS--R 33.25 miles (-4.25 miles), SB: 67 min. (+2 min.)
As you can see, there was no treadmillin' this week, mostly because I was back to work this week, and as my stepson did not go to swimming practice, I had no opportunity to find myself at the YMCA to 'mill while he is practicing.

This week will end with my participation in the third, and shortest, of the GRTC Freezeroo Series runs, the Don Curran Memorial 5k. This was one of the races I missed last year, so there will be some added excitement for me as this will be a new course, in a new community (for my running, anyway), the town of Irondequoit. Irondequoit lies just on the northern border of Rochester, and I actually remember running a "fun run" there about 27 years ago or so.

Embrassez votre été invincible!
