There is a muscular energy in sunlight corresponding to the spiritual energy of wind. ~Annie DillardAfter taking yesterday "off" from both running and cycling, and despite late night/morning hi jinx with my wife, I needed to get out and run... and what a day to run it was! Still "benefiting" from the recent onset of global-warming aided weather, the temperature for this January 6 in Upstate New York was 55°F! Additionally, there was a strong, stiff, warm wind (not breeze) which cooled my body as I ran so that I was not troubled by the bothersome realities of super-sweaty clothes and full-on heat.
In the end, I ran longer (in terms of time) than I have since November, when I ran a half-marathon on the side of a ski mountain, a feat which holds no greater allure now than it did the day after then, even with the passage of time (which is not to imply that I won't be there again riding the ski-lift to the start next fall). Believe it or not (I know it's a little hard for me to), today's run also represents the longest I've ever run when not participating in a marathon!
Embrassez votre été invincible!
