Pace--:08:41 per mile
Following two days of yoga and one day of light cycling, I took the next step and decided it was time to put foot-to-ground and run. Hoping to limit any more injury, I thought it a good idea that I transition into the running bu using the treadmill. The goal was to run, and not concern myself with duration and distance, although I knew I would be unable to resist documenting the information!
The workout was a little frustrating, but went fine. Immediately following I felt a little ache in my left ankle and my right shin, both feelings which I had experienced during last week's area and which had precipitated the slowing of my planned return to training, and eventually "competitive" running. With the final Freezeroo Series race of the season coming up this Saturday, I am hoping to pull myself together and finish that race well, in an effort to uphold my overall finish. (Currently I am twenty-hourth out of sevent-five oevarll, and fifth out of seventeen in my age/gender group.) I feel that today's treadmill attempt was an important step to test my overall sense of my capability, but I am disappointed that my body is not healing as quickly as my spirits.
It would seem like another bag of Birds Eye French Cut Green Beans is in order, this time on my right shin...
Breathe in, breathe out... YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
