SNOW DAY!

Current River City Weather (as of 12:48 p.m.):

Weather Report: Mostly Cloudy and Windy, 15°F, 50% Humidity, Winds: From WSW @ 21 mph; feels like -2°F.

For the first time in nearly four years, my school district's superintendent has declared today a "Snow Day!" Even more important is that for the first time in four years, a "Snow Day" in my district means staff do NOT need to report! I am so glad that I held onto my hand, so to speak, regarding calling in "sick" today until the last possible moment, so that the day would be a Snow Day, and I would not be charged with sing a sick day! In truth, as you can tell from the above Weather Report, the reason for the day off is not snow as much as it is C-O-O-OLD! Very Cold. Fr-e-e-e-ezing cold!

Now, if all works out, which is seemingly less and less likely, unfortunately, and (my son) Jack and I do drive to Dublin, Ohio this weekend to run the marathon, I can feel okay about calling sick the day afterwards, depending on how well I rebound from the run. Resting, drinking orange juice, and popping meds, I am confident that, even if I don't run, Jack and I will be going to Ohio...
