Weather Report: Cloudy, 35°F, 78% Humidity, Winds: From SSW @ 3 mph; feels like 35°F.Pre-Race Observations: This morning as I sat down with my pre-race coffee, I went back into the previous year's results for today's race. Just a few observations... generally speaking, it seemed to be a very fast race, run by many young people (presumably students as it is at a middle school), during which few folks actually walk, although that is advertised as an option. All of this is relevant only because my stepson will be running today and this will be his first run. I am hoping he has fun and also that we don't come in too far back of the pack. Judging from what we have done, and the course, I guess I am hoping for a finish somewhere around 31 to 32 minutes. The bottom-line, though, remains, having a positive experience... although I am also aware that a huge part of that is not finishing last--although Greg will, at the very least, finish ahead of me...
Post-race Observations: The weather held nicely and both Gregory and I ran well, finishing in slightly less than thirty minutes, ahead of my expected finishing time. The course offered some rolling hills through a suburban neighborhood and there were a surprisingly large number of registrants both walking and running in the event. I think we can definately build on our shared success today as we prepare for another 5k in mid-April.
Both Anne and Jack came to the race this morning, and Jack even took some pictures:

Upon returngin home, Greg went upstairs to recharge for basektabll practice in the afternoon and I went out for another short run. All in all, it was a tremendously successful morning!
Run: 3.7 miles in :29:30 @ 10:30 a.m.
Breathe in, breathe out... YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
