Spending the day cruising the Chesapeake Bay in a sailboat can be much more exhausting than you might imagine... sometimes doing nothing can be much more work than actually moving. After relaxing most of yesterday afternoon on my brother-in-law's sailboat (which my twelve year-old stepson drove--he told told me to mention that) it was hard getting up this morning... but not too hard as I had turned in after diner at the early vacation hour of about 10:30 p.m.

This morning I followed the same route out through Gloucester than crossed over the George Washington Memorial Road(?) and followed the suburban street down toward the birthplace of Walter Reed (yes, that Walter Reed, as in the Medical Hospital).

It was still warm this morning, but I felt much more "together" and capable of putting forth a moderate effort. I've only run this course a few times over a few years, but already it feels common.

Breathe in, breathe out... YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
