For the first time in quite a while, I went running before going to work, mostly out of guilt for not having gone for the past two days and because, as my wife was aways this week in Washington, DC, I had been eating a rather poor diet of junk foods. When I first began running again, most of my training was done in the early morning hours. As I became more obsessed with preparing for each school day before the students arrived, it was less and less convenient to run in the morning, as I would spend much of the time on the road concerned with what I could be doing back at home or in my classroom.

This morning, while I remained haunted by these expectations, I did mange a fairly nice short distance run. I did, however, cut it short as I could no longer fight ht inner urge to get home, get showered and get to work.

Breathe in, breathe out... YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
