The Rare "Double Dip"

Run 1: 5.78 miles in :42:06 min. @ 8:15 a.m.

Weather Report: Cloudy with Light Rain, 65°F, 85% Humidity, Winds: From NW @ 5 mph; feels like 65°F.

Pace: 7:17 min./per mile avg.

Another personal day from work, this one because I wanted to attend my stepsons "Moving Up" Ceremony, so I went straight for the Erie Canal trails to run, again. I had initially intended to go for a much longer run, but time constraints and traffic being what they were, I set out with the idea of running out and back twenty minutes apiece. I started out at the access trail just off of Winton Road and ran West to Kendrick Drive. There were no other runners on the paved trails, though there were quite a few bicyclists going toward Kendrick, so I can safely assume that perhaps they were going to work at the University of Rochester.

I made a conscious effort to increase my running pace to make up for the diminished distance I would be covering. It's hard to calculator an exact pace with only my $10 Target watch to go by, but I'm fairly certain I did pick it up, especially on the way back.

Later in the day, I referred back to the Erie Canal Running Distances (miles) chart on the Greater Rochester Track Club website. Let's see... Winton to Kendrick is 2.89 miles, so the round trip would work out to just about to just about 5.78 miles.

Run 2: 1.3 miles in :15:00 min. @ 5:45 p.m.

Weather Report: Partly Sunny and Windy, 78°F, 37% Humidity, Winds: From WNW @ 20 mph, gusting up to 32 mph; feels like 78°F.

Pace: 11:32 min./per mile avg.

After Anne came home from work and started our evening with a quick-footed tour around the neighborhood.

Breathe in, breathe out... YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
