Weather: Partly Cloudy, 85°F, 91% Humidity, Winds: From SSE @ 3 mph; feels like 86°F.Pace: 6:23 min./per mile avg.
Pre-Race Observations: Very warm and humid weather is predicted for this evening's run... yup, I said this "evening." The first mid-week evening race I have had since, well, ever is shaping up to be a full-on family affair. Both my son and daughter are home this evening, so I'm hoping both will make it to the run (again). They proved to be good luck last Friday, and this time (unlike last Friday) there is definitely little chance of showers. Additionally, my wife will be making the trip with us, too!

Post-Run Reflections: The course was could best be described at square, seemingly made up of four long stretches, preceded only by a hundred yard dash around the first right... I kept making the mental comparison to a backwards NASCAR race--start, right turn, right turn, right turn, right turn, finish.
In the end, I ran well, despite the heat, and there was much camaraderie to be had among my fellow registrants and my family, who were there to share in my second place (for M30-39) finish! I was glad to share in the success of others too, as even those who did not "place" had the chance to share in the spirit of "the fish and loaves."

Breathe in, breathe out... YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
